Dear colleagues ,please find attached a template of our next study club that will be held on Wednesday december 15th between 18:30-20:00 via zoom application. This session is exclusive for LSP members. Regards

Dear colleagues, in order to allow clinicians  from different countries to keep their knowledges up to date in periodontology and implant dentistry the EFP created a section  in their website called JCP Digest .

JCP Digest offers concise research in periodontology, summarising studies first published in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology. Each issue of the digest is prepared by a team of students at one of the EFP-accredited postgraduate periodontology courses. The publication is published first in English and then translated into different languages.

The French society  engaged to share with us a link in which you can have access to different papers of the JCP in french by following the link below:

Welcome to The Lebanese Society of Periodontology

A non-profit organization formed as an independent science-based forum for professionals and patients interested in the art and science of periodontology and implants.

What is periodontal disease ?

Periodontal disease is an inflammatory disease initiated by bacterial microorganisms and affecting the tooth supporting apparatus. Gingivitis is the early stage of periodontal disease, the gums become swollen and red due to inflammation. Once the inflammation has reached the deep supporting tissues, i.e. bone, it is called periodontitis, the gums pull away from the tooth, bone can be lost, and the teeth eventually fall out leading to masticatory dysfunction.

Besides oral hygiene, important risk factors include inherited or genetic susceptibility, smoking, diabetes, and medications can influence the severity and progression of a periodontal disease.

Periodontal disease can be treated and controlled. Early diagnosis can be done by a general dentist. Periodontists are well trained for treating moderate to advanced forms of periodontal disease.
